All students are asked to contribute to a positive learning environment. Successful learners bring all materials to class as well as ask related questions to the lesson or focus of the day. Since all students are entitled to learn, these following procedures maximize the potential for learning opportunities for all students:
1. Classrooms are public places and using appropriate language is an absolute must for everyone.
2. Arrive ON TIME with all required materials such as pen/pencil, homework, outlines, projects, notebook, make-up work, etc.
3. Follow all rules and procedures in the school handbook.
4. Respect school property & other students. Do not pinch, punch, push, kiss, kick or curse in this class.
5. DO raise your hand and DO listen when others are speaking. DO NOT slouch or slumber/sleep in this class.
6. Assignments are given due dates which will be followed. I will use my discretion in regards to extenuating circumstances, etc.
7. This is NOT the cafeteria, therefore the eating of candy, snacks, food or chewing of gum is NOT allowed. Also this is not the gym, so there will be NO play fighting or any other horse play. Lastly, this is NOT the bathroom or a salon for that matter… which means lotions, make-up, hair spray, self tanner, gel or any other home beauty aid will not be applied in this room.
8. Uses of mobile/listening or otherwise distracting devices in class are PROHIBITED!!! These items are, but not limited to: MP3 players, iPods, cell phones, DS, DSi, Sidekicks, iPhones, beepers/pagers, BlackBerrys, etc. Your Asst. Principal, the Principal, or I will confiscate these items.
Consequences
I will assign a 7th period for the first offenses e.g., disrupting class, consistent tardiness, chewing gum, etc.
Whether you play a school sport, participate in a school club, babysit for 5 starving children, ride home by bus, row boat, air balloon or require an escort by the Secret Service of the United States… you will be detained, and like ET--- I will ‘phone home’ to notify your legal guardian(s) e.g. mom, dad, step-mom, step-dad, foster-mom, foster-dad, social worker, minister, priest, probation officer, grandparent or trustee
After those first offenses… be prepared to visit your Asst. Principal for some time in scheduling a detention.
